Some type of identifier for already open apps?

I am not sure if this is accessible data from a launcher but would it be possible to get some form of identifier to show apps open in the background? Maybe a dot in the top right corner of the app icon or an extra stroke around the edges of the icon? Thanks,

This way you dont have to enter the swipe view to see if an application you no longer want to use is on in the background. Adds a bit of efficiency.

Great suggestion. If the app is open and there is a notification shown, there is a bar that lights up intermittently, but another signifier for those apps that don’t have anything else would be helpful. Great feedback!
